At First Coast Rehab our therapists have taken extensive additional training, acquired board certifications, and specialty certifications to bring you the highest level of care.

Orthopedics

All of our therapist, with a doctorate in Physical Therapy, are thoroughly equipped to treat all orthopedic conditions. We also have therapist that are Board Certified Orthopedic Specialists.

Dry Needling

Dry needling in a evidenced based skilled intervention that uses a thin filiform needling to penetrate the skin and stimulate the underlying myofascial trigger points, muscular, and connective tissue for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments. This treatment can be a very effective part of your treatment plan.

Pelvic Health

Pelvic floor dysfunction affects 1:3 women. Men can also experience pelvic floor dysfunction. Impairments in pelvic floor muscles and surrounding muscles and joints can lead to urinary/fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, pain with intercourse, and pelvic organ prolapse. Other common conditions our specialized therapists treat include pre/post natal care/postpartum recovery, birth prep, diastasis recti, c-section recovery, recovery from any pelvic or abdominal surgery, endometriosis, and pre/post prostectomy recovery.

Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMJ)

Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) is a collective term for clinical problems that are characterized by chronic or fluctuating orofacial pain. There are related to auricular dysfunction of the TMJ, masticatory muscles, and closely related structures. At First Coast Rehab, we have therapists that have taken extensive additional training to provide you with long lasting relief.

Post Amputation Care

At First Coast Rehab we are currently developing a comprehensive program to elevate the care for amputee clients. We have partnered with Steps4Love to collaborate and bring additional resources to this population. Our therapist has taken extensive additional training in the care for amputee clients and he also assists in teaching Prosthetics as adjunct faculty.

Occupational Therapy/ Certified Hand Therapy

At First Coast Rehab, we are proud to have 3 Certified Hand Therapists serving our community. Hand rehabilitation is extremely intricate and requires a high level of expertise to have the best care. Our occupational team treats a wide variety of upper extremity conditions including nerve injuries of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder, traumatic injuries, post surgical, nerve and tendon transfers/repairs as well as any upper extremity orthopedic condition.

Balance/Vestibular

Balance impairments are very common and can lead to falls and decreased quality of life. Vestibular conditions are of the inner ear and can lead to dizziness, imbalance, and nausea. Let our trained therapists help you get back to your active lifestyle without fear of falling or feeling dizzy.
